FabWise runs a fabrication shop from one place. Crews clock in at a shared kiosk tablet or on their own workstation and pick the job they’re on, so hours land against the right job as the work happens. In the office, the same system carries the shop’s website and the quote requests it brings in, customers and jobs through to won work, scheduling, time off, hiring, and a payroll export any provider can import.
Because job costs come from captured time instead of a guess, the next quote starts from real numbers. Every morning Foreman, FabWise’s assistant, reads the shop’s data and briefs the owner on what needs attention, starting with jobs heading over budget.
It’s built for small and mid-sized metal shops (welding, fabrication, machining, sheet metal and structural steel), where people clock in and work is organized by job. It’s opinionated about how a shop floor works rather than configurable for every industry, which is why it works the day it’s turned on. Pay stays with the payroll provider: FabWise captures accurate hours and never calculates pay, classifies overtime or enforces labor law.
We started building FabWise in April 2025 with Nick Ulicney, who owns Kutz Fabricating in Pittsburgh. It went live on the Kutz floor in October 2025, and every version since has run there first. It’s been running in customer shops since July 2026.
